i pitched the yeast in my second batch close to 48 hours ago now and i have yet to see any action in the air lock. the only change i had made from my first to second batch is i used iodie cleaner instead of a contact type. my question is can the iodine kill the yeast?

There's nothing wrong....

Fermentation can take 24 to 72 hrs to show visible signs, and by visible signs we don't necessarily mean a bubbling airlock.

It IS a sticky at the top of the beginners forum for a reason, afterall. ;)

And at proper dillution, no, iodine will not harm your yeast...we wouldn't be using it as a no-rinse sanitizer if that were the case.....

Relax.....
