When to rack - if at all?

Ok simple question here. Most say to rack your beer after the main fermentation subsides about 1 week into it? It has been a week for my porter and I am debating on racking it into another carboy. I have a keg so it will be going into the keg right after it is done fermenting. But would you say i even need to rack it? What do most of you that keg do?

LOL. Not only does it make for great tasting beer, but it's the perfect for the lazy brewer as well.

Thanks to the wonderful information on this forum, I keep my beers for 3 weeks minimum in the primary.
