I have a Funkwerks Saison in my cellar right now that I'm excited about. I've only had their beer once and it was Brett Dream and that was great.

Hope its later rather than sooner...with the temp the way it is today, you don't want to risk having it freeze on your porch man. I've lost two cans in shipments due to bursting, icy cores of beer

I do have a few ideas for the next round. One was keeping it really small. 3 bombers or so. I know some have said due to xmas they are not going to join a big, expensive swap (potentially myself included...). So this would help with that.
Yeah, after I posted that I wouldn't participate in the next round I got thinking about it and it made me sad to skip out. I think it'd be cool to treat it as a kind of secret santa type thing with just a few winter/christmas beers, maybe not even specifically local, but just some that you personally love.

Orrr......I depending what people think, perhaps a one bottle swap. Limited to one day, brewery only releases...people kind of have to have the beer or not before joining it would seem. Determining what is acceptable might be dicey, but it could work. It is the holidays, so this might be a fun idea.

I was going to PM you with a swap idea but since it's now going on in the thread I submit this idea for the January swap:
Brewery Pride Swap
Share an entire local brewery line (or 1/2 the swap total whatever size it is deemed) from the brewery closest to you that is your favorite. The other half of the trade would be local only beers and minimum one homebrew. I added this because I regret not sending one to AbsolutHamm in my trade.
Obviously the idea is subject to interpretation and revision. Thoughts?

I think this is a great idea. It is what I envisioned from the start.
My original swap idea was breweries within x miles of you are all thats acceptable to ship. I got some negative feedback though and changed it. I do, however, think that since we have done five swaps already that members would be more open to it.
I like the idea of a small swap - maybe make it sort of secret santa themed by having everyone put up their favorite style(s) when they sign up so the sender can personalize the box as best as possible?

I like that. I also regret not sending pmcint01 one of my barleywines as well, but I had it hidden so well to try to not tempt myself until the week my daughter is born in March that I completely forgot about it. That's the only thing I've bottled in a long time.

Don't think they have Great south bay, oyster bay, barrier, Montauk, black forest, port jeff, and singlecut either
Only ones that should be on are GSB, Port Jeff, Spider bite and Long Ireland since they are the only ones that bottle. You cant find brickhouse, john Harvard or black forest outside of there establishments also.
Just need to hit Montauk brewing to hit all the breweries on the island lol, while more are forming by the month!
