At what height from the bottom of the keg should I weld in my fittings? I want to be able to have a spigot, a thermometer, and a sight glass. Just want to know the ideal location befor I start drilling holes. Also from what iv gathered all fittings should be 1/2"?

For your ball valve and sight glass, I'd go as low as possible. This will ensure you can read low volumes (it'll still probably start around 3-4 gallons). I have my weldless fittings right about 4" measured from the bottom of the lower skirt. For the thermometer, I'd probably try to incorporate it into the sight glass rather than drilling a separate hole for it. I'd also consider adding a fitting for a whirlpool port, even if you don't currently have a pump.
