I made my first starter in 2L flask on stove. Had some baby gas drops (simethicone) in the medicine cabinet. Read it's a good fermcap substitute. used it for foam control. They were expired but I didn't think that would matter. I guess it does. It had no effect but i put it in after the starter had begun to boil. I'm wondering if it was because they were expired or did I add at the wrong time. I used a lot (3-4 drops for a 1.5L starter) which is too much but I had a real mess on my hands with boilovers
