I'd suggest everyone post their likes, and you, or a non-participating party, do a random draw to assign senders to the receivers.

If people are interested in doing secret santa, I could throw together a quick web app to which people could submit likes, dislikes, and addresses, and then have it randomly assign participants to eachother.

Not sure if "likes" are a great idea though as opposed to "dislikes". I'm more than happy to forego random sours/ciders in an offer, but if someone loves barleywines they're going to be sorely disappointed in the box I send them.

Sounds great, Thorrak! I find your Fellowship tool makes running these things much easier. If you had the time to set something up, (and we decided to actually do it), I'm sure it would be useful.

Can we incorporate it into a Dirty Santa of some sort? Everyone submits a funny beer related offer into the system which keeps it hidden. We do the random number generator to get pick order. People then have the ability to either claim one of the unopened items or take an item that has been revealed by one of the other player (not both). If the item you had opened or taken from someone was then in turn taken from someone, you open a new one. The person with #1 then gets to chose from the open field at the end. You then ship your item to the person along with some sort of real beer stuff much like our FotD. You would just communicate with the person you need to ship to and get some general ideas for beer they like and you send it and the funny item that was selected.
