I'll be attempting to brew some Belgian style ales using the all grain method. I'll be posting pics and updates.

My first attempt will be at brewing an abbey style dubbel.

I'll be using some ninja style techniques. That means individually milling each grain by tossing it in the air and attacking it with a katana. Cons: lose a lot of your fermentables this way ;(

My recipe has been handed down through the eons from monk to monk.

Okay I just went to the brew shop and this is what I ended up with:

Abbey Dubbel
6 lb Pilsner Malt
1 lb Honey Malt
1 lb Abbey Malt
1 lb Dark Munich Malt
1 lb Chocolate Malt
1 lb Special B Malt
1 lb Carahell Malt
1 lb Aromatic Malt
1 lb Dark Belgian Candi Sugar
2 oz Saaz Hops (60)
2 oz Hallertauer Hops (30)
1 Whirlfloc Tablet (15)
1 Vial Liquid Abbey Ale Yeast

I went to my shop to get a fermentor for this abbeydubbel. They were sold out! I panicked. The shop owner suggested a carboy cuz I was looking for the plastic buckets. Now I have a shiny new carboy ;)

I'll be brewing up the abbey dubbel at the end of the week. Expect lots of pics.
