    Sold 7 Gallon Unitank

As the title says, a 7-gallon SSBrewtech Unitank, FTSS heating and cooling system, spunding valve, and leg extensions. Nothing wrong with it at all, just not using it as much as I thought would. All together, I have around $1350 in it, looking to get $900 OBO. Shipping is doable as I still have...

    Steam Slayer mounted in lid.

I’m looking at mounting my Steam Slayer in the lid of my SSBrewtech 20 gallon kettle. When measuring, I find a slight down hill slope (towards the tee). Is this ok or do I need it closer to level?

Using a Spike coil with SS Brewtech Unitank.

I saw it posted here and I can't find it now, and yes I searched.... It basically told how and what size Spike coil to use with a Unitank. I'm getting a 14 gallon, per SS the smallest batch they say I can cool is around 8 gallons. I want to be able to do 5 gallons, 3 if possible for testing...

So how long have you let a beer lager?

So I have an Oktoberfest that I placed into a sixtel in November with the plans of letting sit in my fermentation fridge until late Sept/October. How long have you lagered for? What can I expect? Am I setting my self up for failure or disappointment?

    TC Elements burning up

So I just toasted my second TC element on my BK. The first time was all me, the wires had worked loose in the plug and arced. I went back, cleaned up the connections and got a new plug. Nice tight connections were made. So I'm brewing last weekend and I smell that sick burnt plastic smell...

North Carolina Keggles and SS NPT hardware

I have upgraded my kettles, looking to sell my trusty keggles and the remaining hardware. They are set up for HERMS brewing, all of the hardware is from Bobby_M at Brewhardware.com. All are silver soldered and have worked flawlessly. The HLT and BK have tri-clamp fittings for the element. The...

    Keg carbing

So I have four Sanke kegs in various stages of drink. My problem, when I don't have one or two on a regular basis, the kegs seem to "overcarb", high foam on the first pull, lasting for about 16-20 oz then settling again. How do I avoid this?

Yes, another DIY A/C Glycol Chiller

I know, I know. You're tired of seeing a window A/C unit and a cooler turned into a glycol chiller on the cheap. And this post isn't any different. However I just saved about $850 by doing this. I do not have any pictures of the step by step, we all know what that entails. I didn't mainly...

    Electrical maintenance

We all do maintenance on our equipment, clean everything, etc. How many of us check the plugs going to our elements? After today, I will more regularly. I started up my BK to get some water hot for cleaning out the kettles before a quick brew session. I started smelling something hot, I thought...

    Kegerator makes a bubbly noise

As the title says, my dorm fridge size kegerator is making a bubbling noise in the back. I firet thought it was as my CO2 tank but rules that out. Any ideas? It’s working fine and keeping temps....

    Cleaning up after fabrication

What is everyone using to clean their keggles/kettles after all the cutting and soldering? I thought about getting them up to 140-150 degrees and adding PBW and just circulating it through....Thoughts?

    My HERMS build

So after a LOT of reading, re-reading and re-re-reading, I bit the bullet. It's taken a little longer than I might have liked, but life gets in the way at times. I obtained 3 Sanke kegs and decided to use them as my brew vessels. IMG_2058 by NCMedic522 posted Jan 16, 2018 at 6:24 PM I called...

An unusual question for you brewers.....

So I love my hobby of brewing and I love beer. Recently though, I had surgery for weight loss and my stomach is now half the size it was. I can no longer drink an entire 12 oz beer. I plan on kegging so waste will no longer be an issue, however carbonation and alcohol content kick my arse. I...

    Spike Complete System

I'm sorry if this has been asked already, I searched and did't find anything. Has anyone purchased this system? If so, what size and have you brewed on it yet? I am on the fence about getting one versus piecing one together. I do like their kettles, and would use them in my system probably...
