This one is a sipper. I've had buttered popcorn, salame, and cigarettes to compete with the flavor and it's still overpowering, not in a bad way. Tastes like a 20% liquor. Bock is what I asked for and imperial bourbon aged bock is what I got.
Two neophytes in a local bottle shop. One says to the other "So we're looking for sour beers. Beers that are sour...I don't know where to really look for those..." Other guy: "Um, so would you say you prefer sour or Kölsch beers?" First guy: "That's a really interesting question, um..." Lost...
Next to last pint of Black Rajah Black IPA. I like it much much better than the White Rajah IPA. For me the over the top hopping can only be balanced with roasted malts. This is why Old Rasputin works I think. Still can't find an IPA that I don't quickly get tired of very quickly.
Last bomber of my 2014 Christmas Quad. The candied orange peel shows through finally and plays nicely with spices and hops against a Pilsner/Munich and molasses background. Clearer and bright-orangier than it looks here.
