I am about to brew my first all Grain batch. It is a one gallon recipe. I see one gallon carboys for sale. Does the one gallon carboy allow enough headspace for primary fermentation?

Kegged my first IPA and brewed a hefe

Just tapped my Pilsner last night. First time brewing it.

I learned, the hard way, how not to fill a growler from a keg.

A ball lock keg. Already cleaned and filled with a continental Pilsner.

Transferred my Pilsner to the secondary and ordered another ball lock keg for the previously mentioned Pilsner.

Assuming you use quality ingredients and brewing techniques are carried out correctly, is there difference in taste, quality, appearance between extract and all grain batches. In other words, in a blind taste test could you identify which was which?

I agree, carb it up and try it. I don't think pouring off the first pint will get rid of anything though. I would think the starsan and beer will readily mix on there own. I don't think there is a starsan layer of liquid below the beer. What's the SG of starsan? The closer the SG's of...
