Congrats on the step-up. Nice Pic's looks like you are off to a good start :rockin:
But I would look into fixing (getting rid of) the Auto shut-off on the burner if it can be done safely. having to restart the burner every 12 min. on a long boil would be a pain.:(
Ok that must be for the PID part of the controller I was not useing that just On/Off. So to increse the Ramp I guss i need to get a bigger RIMS Tube like a 2500 or maybe go to 220v.
Ok I did a Mush run with my FrankinRIMS and was looking over my notes and the Temp / times look a bit off.
I had my Omega Controller set for a step mash On/Off. Havent figured out the PID settings yet
but the temps laged a bit
the ten segment run was
1. 95* for 10 min
2...
It's still fermenting witch will keep it mixed up give it more time to settle out. . . at least a week or more if you can keep the temps good. the last wit i did took about three weeks to settle down the thick stuff (yeast and trub )than i moved to my bottling bucket it will still be cloudy...
Yes most of the Kit Instructions leave a new brewer at a loss. at least the few that i have brewed. but thankfully I fount HBT and have learned a lot from reading. So far as I know there is no beer that dos not need Priming sugar IF you are going to bottle carb.
Ya i went to the store and you are right the price is a bit higher than Oxyclean and most of the ones i looked at did have sent/flavor. so not so good but would work in a pinch
I was in my local bar picking up some bottles the owner was saving for me when i got into a conversation with a older Homebrewer. and he said to clean the stains out of Plastic water Bottles the he ueses cheep Denture cleaner like Poladent tabs He said 6 or 8 in a five gal bottle of warm water...
ok looked at the bottle's and here are the #'s if my math is good ;)
`16 grams sugar per serving serving size 1 oz and 24.5 servings per bottle so
16 x 24.5 = 406.4 / 28 g per oz = 14.5 oz sugar per bottle
so should i use one or both bottles for a 5 Gal batch or do you think that is too much...
