Hi i just want to know if i could make a starter with my wort and add the yeast to the carboy in 2 days. I have wl 051 California ale yeast. what would be the ratio of wort to my liquid yeast?

i would put a protective layer of CO2 on top of the wart while you wait for the starter to do it's thing. you can use dry ice fog for that. the yeast count depends on the SG of your wart. there are plenty of calculators out there that will tell you how much yeast you need.

I suppose it's possible, but leaving your wort for two days with no yeast is begging for an infection. If you do it, make sure everything is super-sanitized, and seal the mouth of the carboy with a stopper and with sanitized saran wrap or foil.

Make a 2 quart starter. That should be fine!
