Both of the stores in Omaha charge $10.00 for White Labs vials and $5.00 for packs of US-05. Anyone got that beat?

buy one vial/packet and start washing :fro:
best decision I've ever made. all you have to to is invest in some 8oz ball jars, and they pay for themselves after the first washing.
I know what you mean. I am all for supporting the little guy but not at an almost 50% premium for the same item. One of the places, Kirk's wanted $3.20 for a pound of Carafa III.
.... they don't get nearly the volume of orders that the online sellers do, so they have to make up for it with slightly higher prices.
Sorry to say I buy the majority of my equipment and ingredients online.
I have the luck of being within a 15 minute drive of 3 GOOD brew shops. I get almost all of my grain there. However, i order almost all of my yeast, and hops from rebel brewer. $.99 for EKG and saaz? Why would I give a local shop $3.25?....
I've been washing into 12oz bottles, this prevents having to pay for jars or lids. So far it's a great method and has reduced the cost of washing drastically.
