I started 2 yeast starters 48 hours ago. One was a Pils lager yeast I've used before, the second was Wyeast Danish lager. After 48 hours on the stir plate, the Pils starter looks like what I'm used to seeing, a nice milky color. The Danish lager year however, looks like almost pure starter wort. It smells OK, but I'm wondering if the lack of color change is an indicator of actual yeast re-production. The smack pack was kept cool until a few hours before pitching and it's only about a month old.

I brewed 10 gallons of Pilsner yesterday and plan to split the yeast between the two batches. I'm trying to decide if I should cold crash and pitch the Danish strain or go pick up some dry yeast?
