uhh... looking to spread cheer and joy to all mankind? And I am banned from the kitchen for laughing at my wife and her "lets make cookies" wevening with the niece and nephews.

Drinking homemade chocolate eggnog. And watch christmas movies for background.

in between courses in the feast of the seven fishes, Wife is Italian, so I get yummy fish tonight! only the two of us tonight but the tradition must live on! sadly no kids, wife is unable to give me brewerlings.:( but Santa Claus is still on his way!!

I live alone, am not seeing anyone right now to share tonight with (though 2 ex girlfriends have both emailed me tonight). Family stuff is tomorrow. I've wrapped presents, baked a torte for tomorrow, cooked a nice dinner, and now I am trying to figure out if I'm liking;

Between Christmas Eve services - one at 4:30 and the other at 11:00. Had Christmas Eve dinner, and opened presents. Everyone's chilling for a few minutes before heading out to the second service : )

I got a beautiful scarf from one boy and new porcelain shaving mug from the other, fwiw :) Big presents for boys were an IPod Touch for the oldest and a weight bench and set for the younger. I got theater tickets for swmbo.

Oh, and enjoyed a tall glass of our "Drinkability Isn't a Word" light American hybrid with dinner. http://www.singingboysbrewing.com/Drinkability-isn-t-a-word.html

Best wishes to all for a blessed holiday! :mug:

I'm at work. I don't celebrate christmas, might as well be here while those that do can celebrate with their families :)

I'm a new brewer.. reading HBT and trying to absorb as much info as I can.. just ordered some ingredients for centennial blonde and cream of 3 crops :)

Revvy-

the only thing that scares me about this entire scenario (most of it sounds really nice, actually) is the wood paneling in the background...

reminds me of the place I lived in college!!!

I hope the beer drinks good.

I have a couple of New Glarus 750ml bottles that I am going to crack along with a highland brewery cold mtn (a christmas favorite for me)... but the eggnog has made that pointles tonight.

the eggnog did make surviving my wife's niece and nephews possible though!

thank god... I hate to be judgemental... but that stuff belongs only in a basement bar at best... dry wall is cheap and easy.

I have had a different mental image of your place... and that did NOT fit!

:mug:

drinking the same beer, guests have left, wife is wrapping a few last gifts, then its my turn. kids (daughters x 2) finally going to bed.

Salubrious Saturnalia to all, and to all a good drink!

Cleaning the house after cooking an onion and candadian bacon tart. A new crust recipe that rocked.

Having a pint of my honey blonde, surfing, watching a Christmas Story. Gotta clean up the house because the GF's parents get in tomorrow evening.

I've been browsing in between the prep work for tomorrows dinner. Just finished it up. The worst part about being a student in culinary school is that your friends & family expect you to be a good cook immediately! Thank god I was a decent cook before I started school... :D

What's on the menu????
Deep fried turkey, sweet potato casserole (with brown sugar & pecans vice marshmallows on top), green bean casserole, pear salad, garlic & cheese mashed potatoes, and STOVE TOP stuffing... The stuffing is not my fault, my wife is addicted to Stove Top, I've tried making cornbread, oyster, potato bread stuffing and she still prefers Stove Top.

Of course, this gut buster will occur AFTER the breakfast of silver dollar pancakes, cheese grits, scattered/smothered/covered hash browns, eggs to order, maple sausage, and center cut bacon. Oh, and fresh ground Columbian Coffee that my wife picked up on deployment IN Columbia.

Should be a very sleepy day... ;)

Chilling after a hard day at work and then wrapping all the presents that I was too lazy to do weeks ago when they should have been done and then peeling all the taters and cutting them up.

It's a web picture, the paneling isn't mine. It was the only pic I could find with a glass showing the beer itself.

How you liking in it...the beer that is? I've had some of the Trader Joe's stuff by Unibroe before and liked it, but I got a bottle of the Vintage this year and HATED it. It's quite possible I got a bad bottle somehow.

Anyway, to add to the thread topic, I just got done watching The Christmas Carol, the George C. Scott as Scrooge version, and am enjoying a Monk's Blood before turning in. Wife's in the shower, wondering if I should join her. YIKES, wait a minute, what part of the forum is this. Oh, Drunken Ramlings, okay, I'm safe with that comment I think! :D

EDIT: Oh, BTW, the children are nestled all snug in their beds...for what it's worth.

Meh...I guess it was good, I just really kinda thought it was going to be more a Barleywine, than a dubel. I was taken aback by the carbonation and the hot alcohol taste. I'm more in the mood for thick and carmally rather than a Belgian high grav/high car/thin bodied beer.

BTW. Merry Christmas Brother Shooter! :mug:
