We did a kind of CZAR extract clone the other day. We've used the super in the past so I thought I'd give it a try again.
*Begin Story..
I had all the ingredients for the batch for a few days. My job keeps me super busy so I had some time on Tuesday night so I decided to brew it up. I didn't have time for a starter so I thought two vials would be sufficient. I honestly wasn't too concerned with the OG I just wanted a nice big stout to drink on. It looked somewhere in the vicinity of 1.10 which was good enough for me.
I'm almost 100% positive I didn't aerate the stuff enough as my aeration wand hadn't come in the mail I really wanted to get the batch going.
Fast forward two days later, no activity. Took another gravity reading and it was right at 1.12. So I pitched two more viles of the Super and shook then living **** out of it in the bucket for about 10 minutes. That seemed to do the trick as I got some activity the next morning.
I am worried that I didn't aerate it enough and it's going to stall. If it stalls I was thinking about making a similar strength cup or so of wort and aerating that, and then pitching it with more of the super. I know aerating after fermentation is not a good thing, but I don't want this thing to get stuck and its like drinking a sugar bomb.
