ok, so I told my dad that I wanted to make a beer for him for father's day. I asked him what the best beer he'd ever had was figuring I could find a clone on this awesome site. he tells me his grandpa always used to drink a beer called Wiedemanns and would like to have it recreated. anybody have any ideas on this beer? I've never heard of it. it would mean a lot to me to be able to brew this for him

Do you happen to know what style of beer it is?

This is what I have found so far

Wiedemann’s Special Lager is a Bohemian style pilsner based on a new craft beer recipe developed by the brewers at Listermann Brewing Co. in Cincinnati as a tribute to George Wiedemann’s original Bohemian Special Brew. Best consumed at about 40 degrees, with a crisp, clean finish.

It is available on draught and in 12-oz bottles in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

Wiedemann’s Special Lager, a crisp and flavorful lager in the Bohemian tradition. The beer, which is relatively low alcohol compared to heavier craft beers, is brewed with several kinds of barley malt, including specialty pilsner and Munich malts that are used in many craft beers.

Aromatic sterling hops provide a zesty punch. It’s a thirst-quenching, light-bodied beer designed to drink when you’re having more than one, maybe more than a few.

Maybe you can email them for some guidance -> [email protected]

I emailed Listermann's Brewing and asked them if they could point me in the right direction.

LOL, so did I. Thanks for the help

I didn't think they still made Weiedemann's beer. We served that among other things at our wedding reception in August 1977! Have to try & find some for old time's sake. Stirling hops is quite nice. Mellow spice as I remember. Stirling hops also goes well with ahtanum.
And don't hold your breath waiting fopr a reply from the brewer. They can be quite tight lipped about recipes. I tryed to get ahold of Stroh's,now owned by pabst, for their old bock recipe for a 5 gallon batch as a home brewer. No reply at all. guess I'll have to try the phone?...
