I found this bottle at an antique shop in Forney Texas. I have searched the internet for info on this bottle and cannot find any info at all on the bottle. I did find that the brewery is Dutch. The brand is Orange Tree, it is a larger that was introduced in 1650. Nowadays it comes in three strengths 5%, 8.5%, and 12% abv. My question is can anybody tell me when the used these stoneware bottles.

I replaced the gaskiet, there was not one when I bought it.

Gotta be a newer one, as it's not as "imperfectly" shaped as earlier examples I've seen.

A few companies still use ceramic bottles. The ones I've seen have been Belgian I think.

I'm think your right, there is some wear on the bottom but not much and the label is crisp and clear. I'm gonna fill it with barley wine and set it aside for a while.
