Hey Guys,
I fired up my new electric kettle last night and held a couple gallons of water at 152 for an hour or so to simulate a mash and see how the PID worked. It was awesome but when I went to drain the water, I noticed it was very cloudy and when I drained the kettle I was left with this white powdery residue on EVERYTHING the water touched. I am 99% sure it has to do with our hard water but I guess I am wondering if this will cause any issues in the brewing process. I know that water chemistry plays a part in mashing and I am curious if I should be worried if I don't have an analysis on the water.
