Has anyone ever ordered WLP 860 from the vault before? I really want to get my hands on this, but the order # hasn't moved away from ~100 for a while. If anyone's gotten this directly out of the vault before, when has this order typically been fulfilled?

To adhere to a schedule, i'm hoping to nab this by the beginning of April; hope it pans out.

I have ordered from the Yeast Vault many times. I would not plan a brew day around having a particular yeast at a set time. Once the order amount is met it can take weeks, or in rare occasions, months to get a vial once it goes in to production.

As an example: German X Lager Yeast WLP835 met it's order threshold on 12/13/18. I was charged on 1/9/19 and I still have not received my order. It's currently 2/25/19. Now it could be that the order just got lost. But ordering from The Vault can be extremely unpredictable.

Something must have happened to your order. I got my 2 packs in January

You're being waayy optimistic - even when White Labs is functional (which it's not been for a year) some of the Vault strains can take years to emerge (I'm still waiting for WLP038 and WLP026). Often your best bet is to wait for it to come out as a seasonal - in fact WLP860 is due to come out in Q3 this year, although I'm not sure why they think we will all be brewing lager at the height of summer and saisons in the depths of winter, hohum.

The internet seems to think that WLP860 comes from Augustiner, likewise Wyeast 2352-PC Munich Lager II although the latter is listed as fermenting warmer and attenuating more. 2352 is available at the moment as a Q1 seasonal.

Can anyone corroborate this one?

Wyeast 2352 Munich Lager II, Whitle Labs 860 Munich Helles, Omega Bayern, and Imperial Harvest are all supposedly the same strain (sourced from Augustiner). I have used the Wyeast, Omega, and Imperial versions and they were all indistinguishable to my palette. Really a fantastic yeast!

I would grab one of the others as a substitute. Omega and Imperial are both year round strains and much more available, and Wyeast is their Q1 seasonal, so take your pick.
