This is my all grain adaptation of the first beer brewed in the White House. It was evidently a recipe designed by the White House staff for Obama to brew. The original recipe released was an extract recipe, though, and I wanted to make my second all grain batch so this is what I put together.
I seriously messed up my mash on this one giving the super low 57% efficiency. I know what I did wrong so I can fix it but be aware you'll probably need a lot less grain to make an equivalent recipe. All of my gravities above are based on the actual result.
This just got bottled 3 days ago so it's not carbed enough but I did crack out a bottle to add to some chili I was making and it's taste is a little reminiscent of a light Newcastle. The color is likewise similar to a light Newcastle. I think this'll be a nice, sessionable beer.
One thing I did do right was get it clear. This is my gravity sample at bottling time:
