hey guys have a homebrew meeting in a month which is having a wheat beer contest anybody have any tips or tricks that may help me score points in the wheat beer department ?

What type of wheat beer are you thinking of making is probably an important thing to ask, is it a;

Hefe
Witbier
American wheat
Wheat wine
White IPA
Dubkelweizen
Fruit version of above
Something else (like a white stout)

Whichever one you pick can greatly change the grain bill/hops/yeast and the resulting flavour. Even different versions of the same
Wheat beer can taste completely different just by the yeast.

White stout sounds interesting but how about a hefe ? Those sound easy

Hefe and American wheats are the easiest I have done of the list I made there, though wits are my favourite.

For a hefe the biggest easily controlled contributors to the final flavour is the yeast and the fermentation temperature.
