Hahaha. Yup. Clicked at 12:00, sold out at 12:00.
Guess I better go write an entitled complaint on Kane's social media pages. That is how this sort of thing works, right?

I think I saw a plaque in the port-a-potty out back that said something like this:

WHEREFORE, whomsoever shall most vociferously complain online about not getting one of our beers, shall be and is entitled (as ****), but also shall be and is entitled to take the beer from somebody else that is clearly less deserving/not as local/doesn't love the beer as much/hasn't been a customer for as long.

EDIT: Also, if all interested parties have not had/tasted/obtained/drainpoured while filming themselves flipping off one by then, I'll be sure to set one aside for us to open at the next Board Game BIF.

Did you guys refresh the page or does the page go from Not yet onsale to on sale?
I saw the green button to purchase, and I clicked it. The page refreshed on me. I see the green button again, and I click it, it refreshed on me. Then unavailable. Whatever, it's just beer.

I know it was roughly 20min ago but it looks like you are 18h late on complaining about this release on their facebook page. Up your game Denise

Troon had another surprise release today. Alex is a great guy and a very talented brewer (unfortunately I haven’t had his beer since shortly after the switch to crowlers) and likes to change up his releases but I have to hold Troon respsonsible for the next level of craft beer lines. Now they have “wait and see IF a beer is even released today” line. I’ve noticed this phenomenon from reading the instagram comments. It often seems to involve people waiting, then leaving, then commenting on how they left and wish they stuck it out. The ****??

To be fair, I think this ridiculous phenomena actually started with kane. I think for the better part of a couple years now people will go to kane on Saturday at noon and then just leave if there’s no limited release. Jersey just seems to have a group of people who love waiting in lines so much they’ll do it even when there is a good chance nothing is being released.

A month or so ago they got pissed at Alex for not telling them not to wait on line because there was no release
I've met people that were proud of the fact that they went to Kane every Saturday for weeks without getting a beer.
Beer is ****** up

I'm slightly removed from this world these days, but what % of these people actually want to drink the beer? Is the "secondary" market that hot? Do these bottles sell for $100+ in some cases?

For the most part Troon's stuff is so limited that a lot of people actually drink the beer instead of flipping it immediately. You can always tell when one of his doesn't quite go over with the masses because you will still see it FT a month later.

He started to do random release days to help curtail the lines and stay in the good graces of his neighbors. But you know nothing can stop the neckbeards. Can't blame Alex at all. Anyone can just as easily go to the Tavern and have whatever on draft....and If you go early enough and know the staff you might get some insight as to if a release is going to happen.

It seems odd to blame a brewery for idiots lining up at the brewery when no announcements have been made.
To be fair I was not actually blaming Alex/Troon just “holding them responsible” meaning it seems to be a phenomenon that started at his place of business(people at Kane were waiting for special bottles, not just regular releases). I agree it’s not like he invented idiots nor do I think he wants people milling around for no reason.

I know. I mentioned that he changes up releases. We all love Alex here! I wasn’t trying to personally attack him. I guess my post wasn’t quite clear enough and was pretty much meant as an exasperated good on how crazy lines have gotten. I sincerely apologize if anyone truly thought I was blaming poor Alex for what his fans do.
