Hung out at Harvest Moon today. I continue to really enjoy the coffee porters that Kyle is putting out. The guava sour was nice as were his Cubs pale ale and the double IPA.

Upstream red team.

RU Rah Rah!

I work around the block from there, so happy I do now. I hope Oceanus comes out again this year (heard it may be spring '17, but nothing close to confirming that)

Vanilla Rye goes for like $50/oz on the secondary market these days, so I'm pretty sure you can't afford to miss this one:

Edit: For the benefit of those w/o Facebook:

last i had a cherry rye was Sept 2015 and i thought it hadn't aged very well and was pretty let down.. could have been bottle variation.. idk but i'd choose the nilla over the cherry...

good looking event either way.. wish i could make it

Had it in December 2015 and thought it was fantastic, but to each their own. I also think all the berry/cherry BCS were not the greatest when fresh

I have to work on Friday.

Serendipitously, I'm going to Thanksgiving at my aunt and uncle's who live about a five minute walk from the Cloverleaf, so probably will crash there for the night and then stumble over on Friday morning for 'Nilla Rye.

Brunchin' ass Bill loves him some 'nilla.

Troon is now doing growler fills on weekend evenings (bring you own glass and cash only for now). Stopped in last Saturday. Alex is a really nice guy. He had a saison, pale wheat ale, dipa, and English porter. They were all really good beers, pretty amazing considering it was his first time on the new system. He also has some barrels ready to fill up and a nice looking house culture. Really looking forward to what the future holds!

yeah, just looked them up... no real info... wish we at least got a background on the brewer

As long as it doesn't start with "our head brewer got a home brewing kit as a gift from his Grandmother for Christmas in 2015, and from there it was love at first drink!" or something, there's always hope.

I think he got the homebrew kit for his 21st birthday, not Christmas. And then his parents got him the brewery for Christmas the following year, right?

EDIT: I should clarify though, I like several of their beers, and the place is generally very busy, so in Magnify's case, I think it worked out alright.

Thanks for the info! Can't wait to check them out. Are people still meeting on the 3rd for beers? I am supposed to go to a beer friend's birthday party that day but would like to join you all. If it's a different date in December (or if people want to go another Saturday), please keep me in the loop!

We've all drunkenly embraced some Bojangles or partaken in some late night Crown Fried Chicken, no judgement friend.

There's a Kennedy around the corner from my house. Post-PATH ride home, it's heavenly. That trashy-ass mac and cheese works wonders after beers.

yeah, a few of us wanted to do something but the 3rd is all booked for our little group

what are you north jersey guys talking about with your sheetz and bojangles... what are these fandangled places you reference

wawa is pretty legit tho... miss the days however when they carried more nationally recognized brands and a bit less wawa branded items

i still remember when my lil ho bunk town got a wawa back in the mid 90's.. they let the town teenagers run the place... what a poor idea that was. it was basically a party house where the goods were free.. don't think they ran an inventory for over a year haha
