...and I love everything about it. I'll try to find the video of the fight we were around last year. Dude ripped his shirt off, started throwing punches, saw my friend filming and came at us. The best!

I live in nj less than 2 hrs away and have still never been to AC beer fest

Between the awesome punk bands and so much beer

I'm sure I'd get my ass ****** beat

Will you be stopping by any breweries on the way down?
Probably not, although we may be on the road a bit earlier on Friday than usual... Ideas for the least out of the way good option (anywhere off the parkway)?
If I wasn't working I would totally be there for Flogging Molly.
kinda sucks they put them Friday night, but the sound in the convention center is terrible.

Kane is a 10 minute detour (both getting off the exit and getting back on) and it opens at 5, about an hour and 15 from AC.

Jughandle is a little closer off the parkway, haven't had their stuff though.

Tuckahoe is a good option closer to AC.

Jughandle is producing competently made beer in a variety of styles, many of which nobody gives a **** about. Like, nothing is bad or ****** up in anyway, but I don't think anything is really going to kick your ass. For example, it's maybe the only place in the state I've ordered, crushed, and totally enjoyed a pint of hefeweizen. Some of the hoppy stuff is a little sweeter than I'd like, but overall, not a bad place to tick some beers.

The pizza place next door is pretty decent too, and Jughandle allows you to bring in food, so that's another plus.

They seem to play it safe there. Beers really aren't that bad.

i visited jughandle.. while not "bad", i wouldn't say they were "good" either

i'll give them some time and revisit.. but only really would revisit since it's near Kane and i'm up that way a few times.

New breweries really to me don't have time with the landscape today to come out of the gate and be ok and not bad.. something needs to stick out and nothing did for me at jughandle.. to me they are just another one of the many nj spots opening with mediocre suds

Holy ****, this is incredible. If the AC Beer Fest guaranteed I could see something like that, I'd pre-order tickets for the next 5 years, TODAY.
Why do you think I've been going since 2010? (gambling. it's the gambling that gets me to go back.)

Anyway, I'll do my best to document something similar this year. It's really a matter of being in the right place at the right time to see something hilarious. I'd love to see someone dropkick the massive sand castle they tend to put near the entrance.
