What would or what did you brew for yor 50th B-day? Going to hit the big 50 Dec 1st. Want to brew something with a little kick to it. I mainly drink Ales. Most of what I brew starts out in the 1.050 range and ends 1.010. Got any suggestions?

A mead, or an epic braggot. Something that I keep around and drink one every year until I hit 60. You know, some motivation to stick around.

I'd brew my favorite beer, but maybe with a little extra something. Like, an Arrogant Bastard clone, but oaked. Or my favorite IPA recipe, but with twice as many finishing hops or dryhops.

Or you can do a play on the name of the style. Like, make a steam beer because you're running out of steam at 50 years old.

Hey Yooper
Was actually thinking of doing a Steam. When I lived in Va. a bunch of us would go to a place called Bardos and drink Anchor and shoot pool all night..
Got a good recipe?????
Thanks

I just had my 50th earlier this summer. It's a great time of life and I wouldn't be 20 again for anything! No offense to the whippersnappers among us; it's just encouragement that life gets better as long as you have your health.

To answer your question: I always thought a nice stout went down very well in the winter.
