I have 6 lbs amber ale extract
1 oz cascade
1 oz centennial
2 lbs roasted barley malt
1 pack dry ale yeast

Not gonna use all of the barley but that's what i have...any ideas?

Hmmmm, what I'd do with it is put in about two ounces (or maybe a bit more) of the roast barley and make a red ale for the hops I'd use all of both but boiling time would depend on how bitter you want it. Those are fine hops for making a good beer by themselves.

Using 1/2 lb barley, you could be right within what would be an "American Brown"

I'd probably cut down the roast malt from what plan ahea recommends (it's high for the style and there's no crystal malts or anything to balance it) and maybe do .4 oz of each hop for 60 minutes and .6 hops of each for 5 minutes but that's not very different, plan ahea's hopping idea is fine.

Thanx for the advice guys...also I have the capability to do a full boil but never have. does it make much of a difference?
