I'm not sure if I'm now a genius, or an idiot for not figuring this out sooner. But who reads the directions that come with a little bottle filler, anyway?
In my shortish time of homebrewing (and selling the freaking equipment!) it just occurred to me after struggling to get the filler on and off of the siphon tube and destroying a lot of fingernails in the process... just take off (unscrew) the squishy tip!!!
JFC I feel like a dunce.

We have all been buddy. Hell, every time I brew I learn something new. Some days are better than others. As long as you are ultimately having fun, life is good. And keep good notes, every idiot, I mean genius does.

I've had some painful brew days that just took way longer than I wanted/planned for. Unexpected things happen, but you learn from your mistakes. As others said, I still learn new things in this hobby with every batch. Learning ways to better your procces in order to make that next batch go smoother is just part of brewing! Even then, mistakes and things happen no matter how well you have everything dialed in. Keep at it! Don't let it discourage you! You will be rewarded with delicious tasting beer!
