Tried something new with the leftovers this year: added a large scoop each of turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, and noodles along with a splash of chicken stock to a food processor. Pulsed it until well mixed and chopped. Used a small scoop to place a dollop onto an egg roll wrapper, rolled, sealed it, and fried them. Served alongside turkey gravy and cranberry jelly. Good stuff!

I had just wondered about it, so Googled to see if anyone else was doing it and ran across this thread:

It made the dark meat stay pink and gave it a subtle ham flavor. A couple of people thought that the ham and turkey platters got mixed up, based on look alone.

I made a lightly cured smoked turkey back in 2013. Was delicious indeed (best I ever made In fact). But the wife thought it was awful and refused to eat it - because it tasted like ham.

It kept fresh really well. I finished it after about 2 weeks in the fridge.

I really enjoyed it. Highly recommend if you eat alone or with someone that has good taste.
 
First beast stew of the season. One of the best chuck roasts I’ve had before. Wish I had taken a picture after I seared it. Tried something different and it was edge to edge crusty brown.

Anyways, I ate too much and now I’m going to have to drink scotch for a few hours since I don’t have stomach space.
 
I've had a Bolognese sauce recipe saved for a couple years now and finally decided to give it a try.

Onions, celery, and carrots cut up.

Olive oil, butter, garlic, salt, and pepper added and sautéing.

Ground beef/pork added, wanted ground veal as well but the store was out.

De-glazed pan with white wine, and then moved it to the slow cooker and added whole milk, diced tomatoes, beef broth and tomato paste.

I have a friend from Ireland, he says Shepard’s pie is made with lamb and cottage pie is made with beef. The Guinness can bring it a wee bit closer to an authentic dish. I’m sure yours was tasty the mash on top certainly looked good!

Mine was simple, stupid simple, but boy was it yummy!!
 
Right, this is home cooking at its best. I imagine there are nearly as many variations for shepherds pie as there are for meatloaf. :)
Exact Recipe:

• Whatever meat you've got
• Whatever else you've got
• Place in baking dish, cover with mashed potatoes, and put in the oven long enough.
