Drank it last night.

Pretty sure that I agree with you on that.

It felt like I was drinking one of my favorite pipe tobaccos... liquid smoke, with only the tiniest hint of maple or bacon.

That sucks. I got excited when I saw this beer at the store but I haven't heard anything good about it.

You can pull aromas of ever piece in the name, the bacon and even the sweetness of a donut. But if you look at the grain bill on the bottle its like 5 different kinds of smoked malts...waaay too much smoke. Granted smoked beers is one of the only styles i cant stand...it had so much potential, too bad it was awful, i suppose not EVERYTHING is better with bacon and some flvors just dont mix

You absolutely can. You can also taste sweet doughnut and maple, and the pork half of bacon. But you are absolutely correct that there is far too much smoked malt in it. The grain bill included three smoked malts (Breiss cherrywood, Weyermann beech, and house-smoked hickory). Two-row and Munich are also included, as well as two crystals (15 and 75L).

Like I said, the bacon and the maple and the doughnut are all there, but you have to focus pretty hard to find them through all the smoke. No pun.

Heck, I think this brew gives Ardbeg a run for it's money...

I have a few Koffs in their now.

They are pretty much back up if I run out of my beer.
