Yesterday I received beer for Father’s Day from my youngest daughter, Leffe and Brewdog. Today I received shoes from my eldest daughter but they are too small, I suspect they are US sizes.

Happy Father's day to me! Couldn't resist. A $75 knock-off, new from China.
Disassembled last night and cleaned everything. Quality is better than good to excellent. Chrome, not stainless. The flow control guts are such that you need to use the shank provided. I only have 8 taps on my keezer, but 9 kegs fit, so this rounds out the lineup. Might put it on the side of the keezer rather than the front as it protrudes quite a bit and the drip tray for the current 8 wouldn't work. I'll need to work out a solution for that. Plus, it will have a friend someday when/if I ever bite the bullet on a beer engine.
I'll report back.
Update: You definitely have to use the shank provided, regardless if you use the flow control or not. I thought maybe removing the flow control guts would allow me to connect to a standard shank, but the faucet end has an extra little lip, so that end will not attach to a standard shank. The back end will accept a standard fitting. The shank is too short to go all the way through a 2x8 collar and accept the big nut, to hold the faucet in place, and have space for the beer line nut. The shank also seems to big to fit into draft tower, but I'll play around with that another day. I think I'll look for something to extend the shank before I start custom cutting/fitting the back of the keezer collar to get it attached.

Ended up counter sinking the faucet in the front and back of the keezer collar to make the shank work. Couldn't just counter sink one side or the other as you still need to get a wrench on both sides. Plus counter sinking the front makes the whole tap stick out a bit less. The front was counter sunk 1/2 inch and the back a 1/4. Works great. Just need to clean up a bit bit and put more calk pait on the hole and need to get a proppper czech pils brewed and lager it a few months.

Recently I queried Google wondering if there was a baseball jersey with some St. Pauli Girl logos, art. Huh? There is one... Cool. So I ordered it in late May and waited for the slow boat from China.
On June 11th - I was told it was delivered which didn't happen. I informed the company... Nope and was told to check with my neighbors and the local USPS. And then told they wanted a confirm letter from the USPS... So, I just canceled the charge at Visa, no big deal ... But then... Last night (June 18) ... The package arrived. So... Gotta call the Visa folks again and restore the charge. Ugh.
Good news - nice shirt. Big logo on the back too. Sweet.

I've noticed that the way the Chinese stores ship is different to Amazon etc. Amazon will ship with a single shipper from source to destination with single tracking. When it leaves the fulfillment center it enters USPS tracking for example and then moves the entire route through USPS. They do this world-wide.
The Chinese stores ship consolidated bulk to the country of destination, then breaks out into other local couriers. Temu for example uses four couriers in South Africa, but two bulk shippers from China to South Africa. If you look at the tracking information, there is a delivery closeout on the bulk shipper when it hands it off to the local courier or postal service. Temu seems to understand this and while reporting it on their tracking, knows it hasn't actually been delivered. Other store brokers like Aliexpress often don't and see it as a delivery. Especially when it is handed off to the postal service and not a courier. Then when you query, the seller probably gets confused and thinks it is delivered.
I was even given a link for tracking... saying it was delivered on 6/11 (just rec'd last evening, 6/18). Reversed my dispute and I am aok - but lame service.
USPS tracking sucks. I'll check the tracking and it will have a few data points, all saying something like, "moving through the system." I'll finally get a package on my porch and USPS will still have the latest status of it being in Maryland 6 days ago.
Still better than DHL. Blecch.
Brings back some good memories of drinking St Paulie Girl dark. For some reason always loved that stuff when skiing. Also saw some Michaob amber bock on tap the other day at the local tap room. Haven't see that in years.
I got a delivery from China last week and the local company was called "UniExpress". That was a new one. Not the best job, just left in the middle of the driveway. 7,467 miles, according to Google, in just 10-days. Guess it true the last mile is the most expensive

Some sale hops, they probably hit 100F during the journey. Well, they are in the freezer now, accept for the syringe. I need to look up storage for that one.
The last time I got a syringe of hop extract, I stored it in the freezer. Seemed to work OK, but you'd want to let it thaw out before using it, obviously.
I'm curious, though, if you're going to find actual manufacturer recommendations... I never bothered to check!
I went to the hops direct site where I bought it. The recommendation was to refrigerate and protect from light of course, so brown paper bag and in the crisper it went. Just wanted to try the powdered stuff. Longer shelf life, so when the liquid expires I can still whip up some from the packets.
Bobby sent me a care package. I have some wheat beers in my future. And replace some of that crappy, hardware store vinyl tubing.
I was looking for something else to arrive, but this will do.

Amazon Haul seems to be Amazon's response to Temu. I was poking around during Prime Days and they had 40% off. Then it was spend $25 for free shipping, but spend $40 and get another 5%. So $44.55 ended up $27.63 (includes tax).
Anyway, I got two of these wifi temp controllers. Started out at $9.99 each, so $5.50 each. Different type of unit in that the controller is separate from the wifi plug. Controller can do heating or cooling. Probably not going to use for brewing, but instead will use for seed starting heat mats.
Then I also added in a two pack of PET carbonation tees. Normally $8.60, so $4.73.
Also a flush wand for RV water heater tanks and a BT auxiliary speaker adapter.

I'm not sure Haul is exactly copying Temu. What appears to be similar is that Haul is offering reduced prices for increased transit time as opposed to Prime. I have ordered twice and received products within 3 days (5 items) but also some products taking longer. One took 8 days (ball lock keg lid $8.99), the other is estimated 18 days (1 item). The 3 day items maybe weren't in their warehouses and could have come directly from sellers in US? Or items not in all warehouses? They didn't come straight from China.
The keg lid is ok, seems slightly thinner/lighter than some that I have. I bought a batch of 4 ball lock kegs recently for cheap and two kegs had thread damage and one had a coke style lid. The post was already fixed on one but I figured if I fix the other, I'd rather have a pull prv on it.
I will update if I see additional charges.
