Ehat is a hop terpene?

Terps, bruh! [emoji2957]

Terpenes are flavor/aroma compounds typically found in cannabinoids, but not exclusively in cannabis.

Scott Janish’s book “The New IPA” has a lot of great info on hop terpenes.

The really cool thing about the yeast strain they used in the “SCIENCE!” beer is that it creates actual hop flavors during fermentation without any actual hop influence. Another local brewery (Drakes) has made a pale ale with no hops at all, using the same modified strain made by UC Berkeley scientists. Pretty crazy stuff!

I need this in my life...the bitterness from hops is what keeps me away from IPA and PA (to some extent).

Brewed a dry irish stout with kveik Sunday. Tried a sample and kegged it today. Now, it will be drinkable Saturday. That's an insane turnaround!!

I was just thinking about making a stout with kveik! Which strain are you using? Oslo?

So jelly!
