Variety is the spice of life, and if you only have one esophagus, you build a lot of unemptied bottles.
I quit bottling a while back… Kudos to those that still do… still takes just as long… stay thirsty my friends

Can you PM me your process? I would rock it, but.... have horribly ruined every one gallon I have brewed for forever at bottling.

Lol, just take whatever you were going to do and turn it into a 1 gallon batch. Not sure there is much of a process? I usually look at the recipes on here, tweak them because I'm a tweaker, and that's about it. I don't do anything too systematically other than my note taking for future batches.

The bottling is rather quick, maybe 5 min except I knocked a bottle on to the floor so there's that. 1/2tsp primed bottles, siphon to bottling bucket, into bottles, cap, mark, and rinse.

@Scturo - Got the hibiscus bottled, but I'm headed to Canada at the end of next week. I'll ship something when I'm back and we can swap a bottle or two to compare :)

So you have to wait 6 weeks for 9 beers? Fahck.

My ciders finish up in about 1.5-2 and another 1 week to drink (two if you care to wait that long). Everything else is closer to 4 weeks, but I have a plethora of different ones going. I've never been out of homebrew be that mine or something from the FotHB thread :)

Bottling is my hiccup. Do you use a full 6.5G bottling bucket?

Yeah, I use that for everything. Doing one gallons from that requires some finesse I will say...I'm usually balancing the bucket on my head/shoulder while it's leaned over to get the whateverbeer out. Knock on wood, haven't ran into any big issues yet doing it this way. That is, I haven't had a bucket fall over...knock a bottle over here and there, sure. Forget to turn the spigot off, sure.

I can turn 5 gallons around in the same amount of time. 10 or more if I was doing 10 or more ....but I digress... to each his own .... cheers!!!

Wholeheartedly agree, but I would rather drink 10 gallons of different brews than 10 gallons of the same. I would like to claim I don't drink that much, but why lie among friends.

One gallons take the same time, a few pennies more expensive, but I can run through many different brews which is why I homebrew to begin with. Slancha

Sounds good. I’m fine with one or two. And bottling 5 gal batches takes way longer if you include the bottle cleaning and prep.

This Tasty @GaBrewZoo HB Heff from earlier.

Figured this would be an appropriate way to pop the PhP glass cherry with a PPW @PianoMan

It has a very light color to it in a little bit of a haze. I'm speculating that's from the papaya, the haze. you get a very subtle piononos, but I want to say there's also banana in...perhaps from the fermentation? Very subtle papaya flavor, but a really crushable wheat!! Well done :)

Since we're talking smaller batches. Does anyone have a good source for 1-3 gallon kegs at a reasonable cost?
I can't find my receipt I bought years ago but adventures in homebrewing Black Friday sales are usually good. I may be wrong but I think I paid 4 for $120. They were used but in very good shape. Just dusty. They currently have a 10% discount getting down to $76 new which isn't bad. Sale ends in an hour tho :(

Edit: $45 with discount

I bought a new 2.5 gallon ball lock keg from Adventures in Home Brewing a few years back. It was around $75 shipped to my door and it was the best deal I could find for a smaller keg and seems to still be a good deal.
