Interesting that it was sold as a 5 but fit less than 4! I've been tempted to get a barrel a couple times so I am always curious about peoples experiences

I remember filling to the brim but racked to 3.75 so don't know if 1.25 soaked into the wood?? My LHBS has oak cubes pre bourbon soaked, they smell awesome. Almost went that route but what the hell, barrel it is. Got a Quad fermenting now for the next run.

IDK, what you did before, but I soaked oak/bourbon for weeks then added all. There's no comparison! True barrel is the way to go imho.

By far, the best NEIPA attempt with my redesigned transfer system which sees no air. Think I'm on the path to better IPAs, my traditional nemesis.

Probably not on this one, as it's @brandtrepair that has the NEIPA, and not at my place. I'm already stealing enough of his beer, sounds like he might share some though!

I've got one on deck, just need to find time to brew....which has been in super short supply this winter.
