I'm digging the coasters!!! Did you make them?

Oh yeah! I've got about 6 different ones. All mason jar lids, caps stuck down with polyacrylic(I suggest polyurethane, wouldn't have that milky white stuff that mine came out with) then filled with bartop resin. Sad thing is that you have to use mostly twist-tops because they fit better. Had a hard time with ones that used 3 or more pry-offs.

I had that issue a teensy bit, I also suggest adding a UV blocking additive! Prolongs longevity, forgot it in this table I made unless kept in the dark will get milky as well milk in years.. I was going to use my router table to make some wooden coasters just never got around to it I dig you presentation!

Southern Tier Cherry Gose (8.3% whopper) and a Southern Tier 2XIPA

I haven't had any issue with my polyurethane table, but that has bartop resin on top as well.

I am working on a whole bartop for my fiancées parents home next. The cap collecting has gotten out of control though. I have about 10,000 caps and counting

Oh man! You have me beat I don't know how many I have but not enough for a nice design for a coffee table.. yet 😉 I'll be crafting it soon over winter break. In my research if the table will be exposed to extreme UV light ever over the course of 5 years it will yellow dramatically, all epoxy resin eventually does yellow just takes time

Amd good luck... a whole bartop is going to be tricky to pour you know how big a PITA it is with epoxy.. figured it takes 144 caps for one square foot so that's a helluva bar you have cheers🍻🍻

Yeah that table was about 2,200 caps. I'm thinking that the bartop will take almost 5000. I just have 10,000 because I save all of them. I'd rather have a huge choice when I do something like this.

At some point I want to make a map of the U.S. out of bottle caps corresponding to that state/region

Have you seen the state maps that have inserts for caps? The goat bought me one that was laser cut kinda cheesy I think i cam do better but that'd be insane... I'll be waiting ☺
But agreed you never know direction till you spend drunken hours messing round with caps lol

I have a large number of caps I've been saving to trade for other brewery swag. If any of you want them, let's trade. I gotta flatten them, though. Otherwise, they're in perfect shape. I like coasters from all over the world to frame & hang on my man cave/brewery wall. Got room painted awhile back, just hung the first set yesterday.

Just this as I'm looking through the grains I got for my next brew

EVILTWIN Wet Dream
What did you think of it?

I'll see your Wet Dream and raise you a No Hero AND Imperial Biscotti Break.

The No Hero was kind of mediocre - maybe even a tad astringent - but the Biscotti Break is obviously pretty delicious. Not as much cookie [almond and vanilla] flavor as I remembered but still present and still tasty.

Ummmmm well it's ok. Not too bad but not too great either. The coffee flavor is kinda astringent and a little stale tasting. Kinda like coffee that has sat on the counter all day and then you drank it.
The base beer does have potential though.[emoji3]

HB Apollo/Citra IPA

My palette is refining, I can taste that I used too much crystal malt in there, gonna have to cut the percentage back if I ever brew this again. Still not bad by any stretch, just a tad sweeter than I want.

Live and learn

Been looking for a place that sells 10 L sanke kegs and I can't find anything anywhere that doesn't require a price quote and freight shipping.

Water

Finishing a second coffee while jarring my malt vinegar & cleaning around the Brewery/man cave. Switched blow off on Mumme' to an airlock.

Gonna put some more of my stout in the fridge. My youngest son is having his graduation party Sunday. Thought I'd toss them into the mix. Wish I'd brewed all winter now. Even spring was perfect brewing weather. Now that was stupid! Making it to 60, I got introspective, wrote feverishly, thought some more...well, I F'd up, needless to say. But, I guess that sorta thing happens when you make it this far? I would've had the Mumme', Dampfbier, hybrid lager 4.2, & an APA done already. They would've had some more familiar beers to chose from...

Im not sure how smart it is to be announcing on the internet that you will be serving alcohol to a bunch of high schoolers this weekend

Could be college graduation? But who cares. I had to drink busch light on grad night a few years back just because that was all we could afford. So good for you union for supplying good beer!
