Assuming you want the calibration marks to help you hit your final volume, I'd do it at boiling. That way once it cools down and goes into the fermenter that volume should hold up.

Can you actually get an accurate reading while the wort is boiling? I don't think it's possible. I think you had to turn the heat off for a moment to get an accurate reading.

Have some coffee with a little rye in it. Couldn't decide between coffee and beer so it seemed like a good compromise.

NC brew, NC glass, why not. Anyone else enjoy their brews just a tad below room temp?

SN tap room is opening March 10th. Pilot system isn't online yet, but they're sending in stuff from the pilot system in Chico. I'm looking forward to it, but might wait a couple weeks in case it's crazy at first.

I'm about to buy a Nitrogen Set up for my new kegger. How much and where did ya'll get them. Northernbrewer has it for $300, with the faucet, shank, connections and tank and reg.

Got mine for less. All-stainless with new tank.

Anyone have good resources to read up on decoction mashing? Im having a hard time finding information with amounts of mash to pull, boil, etc.

Coca cola. Still feel like poo, but I might open a bottle of my gose tonight for science.
Just came across this on IG. This is a local place in Houston that is hipster beer snob douchey.

So much unnecessary hate for AB. Ridiculous.

Looks like they're only novice level hipster *********s.

A real hipster bar would have hated @gooseisland before they even knew it was owned by @anheiserbusch.

That may be true. But the douchiness is strong with this place. If they really hated AB, they would've never bought the kegs of goose island to begin with. But, now that the popularity to hate on AB has been renewed with the Super Bowl commercial, oh, now they want to be AB free. But, we all know they'll be buying more goose island kegs to make sure come Black Friday, they'll have some BCBS allotted to them. Hypocritical beer snob douches. I can't stand people like that.

Picnic tap + Keg of HB = Pouring a bit in my mouth every time I walk by the downstairs fridge.

Problem?

Tell us how you really feel. :cross:

Not to mention they are using shaker pints. Amateurs.

Those only exsist for my water, never beer. I don't care what beer it is: never in a shaker.

Talked me into it, 1 oz of Nelson in a gallon:D

Nice. I thought filtering it would be a problem, but after a few days a Scoby started to reform and most of the floating hop matter stuck to it. Scooped it all out with a spoon and filtered the rest through a metal tea strainer.

Well, they're only using them for that crappy AB beer. Because it's not even worthy of a tulip since it's from evil AB. That might as well be a bud light in that glass.

Plastic party cup branded Bud Light would be better if they want to be DBs.

However, I was referencing that they can't be that elitist if they possess shaker pints.

Snob fail.

It's hard to get a beer in proper glassware. That's why I do my drinking at home. :D

When you hang out at a place that specializes in wings, I would assume so.

Dedicated beer bar? Have some ****ing respect folks.

:D
