On to my 3rd pint of Bluebird clone since getting home. I suppose I can have a few more before I need to leave for homebrew club meeting. It's walking distance anyway.

I wouldn't worry. You could drink unlimited of those and be able to drive.

How did you burn your eyes? Are you doing the welding? Wear protection and if someone else is welding don't look, common sense ;)
Hope you're ok, the few I've known that have done it says it really sucks.

HB IPA, busy!

Nothing fancy tonight just a quick pickup since playing DD for friends in a bit.

Took Hefe to lhbs: said there is no plastic flavor. It is not infected and it doesn't taste bad, just not what you expect a Hefe to be. She said it has a little fruity esther to it and is likely from the yeast and thin mouthfeel from lack of grains.

So. . . Yea. Bought ingredients to move on.

Wife not home today or are you only drinking part of what you pour?

Water before going to den meeting - tonight it will be a visit to the Boy Scout meeting.

Wife is destroying a couple of the brews he sent. Myrcenary and modus primarily. Enjoy that big boy meeting. Advice you should follow as he moves on into Boy Scouts: be involved when needed but let him go. The scoutmasters kid never really earns Eagle.

I had a hefe turn out like that before too. I used Citra hops, and it was a dumper. Fermentation temp may have been too high, but that's all I could ever conjure.

That was only thing they said could've caused it, but I told them I kept it at 60-62 so they shot that down. No more extract kits for me.

She actually said kinda tongue in cheek,"maybe, if you have some friends that don't drink good beer they will love it?" Lol. That will be tested this weekend.

I can tell you from quite a bit of experience that you can use adequate eye protection, but after a full day of welding pretty much non stop, your eyes still burn after work. I actually enjoyed welding a lot. But I don't miss burnt eyes, clothes, skin and the occasional hot welding wire piercing through the glove and into a finger from missed hand eye coordination.

Edit: And I know you were just joking with him. :D

I welded my car's custom exhaust and intercooler piping and it was a bitch. Had hot wire go through my gloves and bounce around inside of said gloves and clothes until it finally cooled. That hurts like a bitch.

Less talk, more action.

Pull of Bionic Commando.

Word. I made approximately 2000 - 1 1/2" welds today with a partner on the same jig doing the same. Burnt eyes happen. Luckily I only caught my shirt on fire twice and no hot wire in the hands. After a couple of those you get pretty careful.
Third pour of SN Hop Hunter.

At Old Ox Brewery, having a Kristen's Passion Mexican Hot Chocolate Porter

Just a half-pint for now, but I'm pretty sure I'll be walking out with a bomber

Sounds awesome! I've often thought about using Mexican hot chocolate in a stout or porter.
