This is my first carbed up taste of my American stout which really isn't all that American. Not nearly enough late hop character to be called American. I used some oats in it so I could technically enter it as an oatmeal stout. Of course, now that I am thinking about it I realize my mistake. I forgot to compensate for the fuller body so I used the same amount of hops I would have used for a lighter bodied beer of the same late hop character I was going for. Oh well, live and learn. It's still a great beer that I think would do well as an oatmeal stout. I think I'm going to call it Benedict Arnold's Oatmeal Stout.
