Got my Secret Santa beer swap box with some great beers. One casualty of the shipping was a bomber of HB Christmas ale.

I'm not much of a wine drinker anymore, really, but I'm having a glass tonight. Some non-descript cab-sav called Goose Ridge from WA. My cousin Dave and I swap bottles of liquor at Christmas every year. He's been on a high-end tequila kick lately after attending a wedding on the West coast, so I got him a Centenario Crystalino. For some reason he thought it would be a good idea to get me a case of wine instead of the Lagavulin or Balvenie I was hoping for. In the 90s I probably drank enough red wine to fill an above-ground swimming pool. Not the free-standing kind the dog can drain by trying to jump in, but one of the big ones with a slide and the deck all the way around. Not anymore, tho. A bottle of wine has become more decoration than beverage. Looks good in the rack next to all the corkscrews. I appreciate the thought, sure - it probably cost significantly more than I spent - but now I gotta eventually drink all that... here's lookin up yer old address...

It is - hard to see when you're blinded by the downpour, lol. Still pretty awesome...several dozen waterfalls where they'd otherwise not exist.
Mango mimosas
A munich dunkel from stubborn German brewing
HB ipa, 7%. Looks a bit like a neipa, but it’s not.
Fortunately, just the one.
Yazoo Open Ale. Dark wheat ale, open top fermented, Nashville isolated yeast, aged in Syrah barrels 1 year plus. A little funk and sour, slight dark fruit, medium mouth feel and carbonation. Very interesting and tasty beer.

I'll take a bad day in Kauai over almost any day in South Jersey. One of those mimosas wouldn't hurt either.
Secret Santa BBA French Toast Bastard. Vanilla, cinnamon, maple syrup, 11.1%. Tasty dessert beer, full body, some sweet, definitely get the BB, vanilla and maple. Cinnamon is subtle which I'm happy about since it's not my favorite spice. Nice!
When I’m a good boy I get Pilsner. When I’m a VERY good boy, I get Einbecker Brauherren Pils!
I’ve had it here before. You’d think we’d be getting Bock or Maibock or Dopplebock out of the town of Einbeck – that’s what Bock was named after – So what the heck is this Pilsner doing coming from Einbeck? Me befuddled.
Eh, who cares. This is one fantastic tasting Pilsner, and not available that often here in SoCal. I still can’t figure out why, it is a great Pils. I suspect the real reason is all the Beerniks are grabbing it before I get there! Sold Out!
Einbecker has been cranking out tasty brews like this since 1378. Conforming to the Reinheitsgebot, Beer Purity Law of 1516, you can guess what’s in this traditional-looking can – Malt, Hops, Water and Yeast! Back in 1516 that would have been the first three, Yeast came along later. No worries! Great Pils! Prost!
