I'm not much of a wine drinker anymore, really, but I'm having a glass tonight. Some non-descript cab-sav called Goose Ridge from WA. My cousin Dave and I swap bottles of liquor at Christmas every year. He's been on a high-end tequila kick lately after attending a wedding on the West coast, so I got him a Centenario Crystalino. For some reason he thought it would be a good idea to get me a case of wine instead of the Lagavulin or Balvenie I was hoping for. In the 90s I probably drank enough red wine to fill an above-ground swimming pool. Not the free-standing kind the dog can drain by trying to jump in, but one of the big ones with a slide and the deck all the way around. Not anymore, tho. A bottle of wine has become more decoration than beverage. Looks good in the rack next to all the corkscrews. I appreciate the thought, sure - it probably cost significantly more than I spent - but now I gotta eventually drink all that... here's lookin up yer old address...🍷

It is - hard to see when you're blinded by the downpour, lol. Still pretty awesome...several dozen waterfalls where they'd otherwise not exist.

Mango mimosas

I'll take a bad day in Kauai over almost any day in South Jersey. One of those mimosas wouldn't hurt either.

When I’m a good boy I get Pilsner. When I’m a VERY good boy, I get Einbecker Brauherren Pils!

I’ve had it here before. You’d think we’d be getting Bock or Maibock or Dopplebock out of the town of Einbeck – that’s what Bock was named after – So what the heck is this Pilsner doing coming from Einbeck? Me befuddled.

Eh, who cares. This is one fantastic tasting Pilsner, and not available that often here in SoCal. I still can’t figure out why, it is a great Pils. I suspect the real reason is all the Beerniks are grabbing it before I get there! Sold Out!

Einbecker has been cranking out tasty brews like this since 1378. Conforming to the Reinheitsgebot, Beer Purity Law of 1516, you can guess what’s in this traditional-looking can – Malt, Hops, Water and Yeast! Back in 1516 that would have been the first three, Yeast came along later. No worries! Great Pils! Prost!

As I was drinking my Einbeck-produced Pilsner yesterday, my mind was drifting over into the Bock direction. Hey, I think I have a Maibock deep in the Beermeister32 Bierhoard!

I bought a 4-pack of these, but only 3 of them fit my 1-Liter Maßkrug! This loner was sadly forgotten, lagering for months…. In 38F temperature controlled storage!

Ayinger is one of the best - laying it to the Einbeckers in grand style! At 7% ABV, it’s a hefty drinker, a beer usually saved for May celebrations world-wide. Except for you May-day Commies, go drink your Vodka!

I’m surprised I still had this, we’re almost due for the 2025 seasonal release. Being a fairly heavy brew, it lagers well, this 2024 batch is delicious. Prost!

Whoa. That is beautiful. I respect your skills, sir.
You are much too kind sir, as looks can be deceiving. LOL!! Actually it turned out pretty good if I may say so myself. I’ll find out how it’s received by someone with a more refined taste than mine. I’ve entered this one and my year old imperial stout in a regional contest judged by pro brewers.
