These today. Unfortunately the Equilibrium IPA was a drain pour.

Only place I've ever seen one of those is this thread.
There's a reason for that: this is my third one.

In their defense, they're a nice IPA glass and they do what they set out to do. They actually gather up the hops aroma and concentrate it into your nose. They are to beer what paper bags are to spray paint.

The downside is that they are thin and fragile. I take some pride in how I maintain my glass wear and I seldom break anything. I managed to break two of these glasses while simply drying them with a microfiber rag. They're that fragile. Subsequently, I doubt any commercial establishment will ever utilize these glasses.* Despite their benefits, they just aren't economical.

*Well, except for Bluepoint Brewery. I should've scrolled to the bottom of the page first. Sorry, Hoppy2bmerry!

Today's Vienna lager is pitched and in the fridge, just the kettle and chiller to clean up, so it's time for some beer.

The second batch of that Munich lager thing. It really does need a better name. Here's its name in Beersmith: TMM Munich Lager (Light) Ia (1.1). Somehow that's even worse.

And that NW-style IPA

Bluepoint brewery serves IPAs in that style glass.

No problem if I recall this wasn’t very thin or delicate.

I admit I am still stuck on (love) the panther piss series. Panzer piss? 😂

HB Vienna lager. I bottled some of this to share at thanksgiving. There can’t be but a pour or two left in this keg. Took a couple swigs before I remembered to take a pic.

You're a big part of why I brewed a Vienna today, thank you.

Well I’ve been stood up. I was on the phone with Beer-Loving Daughter #3, who says she needs to call me back. Next thing I get is a text saying she’s at Wise Man Brewing in Winston-Salem drinking their superb “Outraged Daughters” Irish Red Ale with friends!

Not sure on that one. “Outraged Daughters?” We just finished the election and I think she’s sending me some kind of cryptic message from the three of them. Anyway, it’s a good thing that Beermeister32 has such thick skin. Wife may say thick headed. That’s OK, this stuff rolls off of me like rain off a duck’s back!

Irish Red Ale it is then. I don’t give enough attention to the fine Irish brews out there, and there are some fine ones indeed. Unfortunately is really hard to locate authentic “Irish” Irish Red Ales locally – most of the ones available on these shores are domestic. Luckily, in the back of the Beermeister32 refrigerated 4.4 cubic foot cellar, I extracted these – Karl Strauss Red Trolley! – I know, I know, San Diego. Still, a fine Irish Red Ale if there ever was one!

Tonight I’m enjoying my 5.8% ABV brew with another Irish favorite – potatoes of course. Funny thing, the humble potato saved the Irish and all other Europeans from starvation. Not native to Europe, the introduction of the potato was originally met with fear, as it was a member of the nightshade family of poisonous plants. After figuring out potatoes were safe and a great source of starch, the humble spud literally saved millions of people from starvation in bad years when the barley and wheat crops didn’t come in. Hey, I’m sure they found enough of the good barley to brew with! If you’re gonna starve, go down drinking that’s what I say!

So all was good in Ireland, beer, whisky and food…. until the Potato Famine! That’s another story! Chug….

Thank you sir.
Welp, I was right… this is the last one. Luckily I have a Helles I’ll keg tomorrow and a brown ale that should be ready to keg in about a week. I’ll be adding my raspberries to my RHL tonight too.

Actually, the TMM stands for Touch My Monkey. Which is the new name for my German series of beers. If you're of a certain age that might mean something to you.

Perhaps you might find Touch My Monkey Munich lager....disturbing?

I’m as happy as a little girl

When in Rome...My Fantastic Haze clone in the Dogfish Head Spiegelau glass.

fwiw, that glass is only 0.025" thick at the rim. By comparison, the average rim thickness of my Boulevard Brewing collection is 0.055".
I bought a pair of these eons ago from DFH direct, murdered one of them while cleaning it...

Cheers! (Maybe not Murder - more like Involuntary Homicide ;))

Thank you for forcing the issue. I believe my Munich lager, and all my German lagers, now have a name thanks to you.

To celebrate, it is right and fitting to be disturbed by the amazing Klaus Nomi.

Disturb us, Klaus Nomi!!!!!!

Now that's a character from the deep recesses of the past. RIP, Klaus.

I think he freaked out a few Americans when he showed up on SNL with Bowie back in the '70s.

Much respect!

Until recently, I worked in the music industry and absolutely nobody knew about Nomi. Which is a shame, because he was a really interesting guy.

That's some serious deep knowledge.

Anyone who can pull off singing Leslie Gore in a countertenor deserves some attention.

Bowie had a knack for spotting talent. Mott the Hoople, etc.

Don't get me started about Gail Ann Dorsey. She is a musician's musician. Have you heard her sing Under Pressure? 1) Dorsey, 2) Mercury, 3) Lennox. She's that good.
