Taught myself to make an old fashioned. Made my own simple syrup from brown sugar because that's what I had on hand haha. I did it with Balcones 100% blue corn whiskey.
1st round of peeps arrived including my stout loving son. We had these. The porter was WAY too bitter. Next was a HB French Toast Stout then the new favorite retail.
Imperial coffee stout. Lots of malt, coffee and cocoa. Not bitter and just a touch of sweetness, 9% abv. Very nice beer brewed in Ocala, FL. Wish I had bought more than one!
Dinner’s over, company’s gone home, kitchen cleaned up (we’re old folks; dinner parties don’t last long ). I’m not much of a Bourbon drinker, but since all spirits taste about the same now (slightly sweet, slightly boozy), I might as well drink some bourbon.
