BoomTown Rats

[edit] I had it wrong. I’d always thought it was about Sylvia Seegrist.

The Cleveland Elementary School shooting is a school shooting that took place on January 29, 1979, at a public elementary school in San Diego, California, United States. The principal and a custodian were killed; eight children and police officer Robert Robb were injured. A 16-year-old girl, Brenda Spencer, who lived in a house across the street from the school, was convicted of the shootings. Charged as an adult, she pleaded guilty to two counts of murder and assault with a deadly weapon, and was sentenced to life in prison with a chance of parole after 25 years. As of February 2022, she remains in prison. She will be eligible for parole in September 2022.

A reporter reached Spencer by phone while she was still in the house after the shooting, and asked her why she committed the crime. She reportedly answered: "I don't like Mondays. This livens up the day," which inspired Bob Geldof and Johnnie Fingers to write the Boomtown Rats song "I Don't Like Mondays".

Whatever I had going on with dark German beers and the weird dark fruit flavor is gone. This is f-ing fantastic!

That's my favorite beer! Spaten Optimator and Aventinus Dunkelweizenbock are also fantastic. You literally can't go wrong with any beer from Ayinger. You would probably also enjoy Troegs Trogenator. I've got 5 gallons of Feltmanator Doppelbock inna fermenter with Voss right now.

How hoppy do you do your Alt? The NB all grain altbier kit was just a tad too hoppy for my taste.
I use Magnum and Willamette to a calculated 38 IBU. According to Beersmith that’s right in the middle of the range in the style guidelines. Mine is, admittedly, an “Americanized” Alt. Real, German, Altbiers are pretty scarce in this part of the world so I don’t know how close mine comes to the genuine article. I like the balance between he malt and the hops in this recipe, but, I only have to please myself. The recipe is posted in that “What is an Altbier” thread.
