Lol was just discussing Dragons Milk with a friend down in Georgia. Told him about it last week and now he's hooked! He drank 4 last weekend and texted me he was hallucinating [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
It was my gateway into barrel aged beers. Delicious! 4 will definitely get ya though! [emoji38][emoji38][emoji38]

Think my grandfather experienced that circa 1944. Guess Lincoln, Neb was a cake walk after that. Other grandfather fought in the Army in Pacific for 4yrs. Both we're farmers. Neither we're ever happy about the situation they were put in, as any decent human shouldn't be, but proud they did fight and win. Cheers Grandpa Bettge and Grandpa Bum!

Someone said Dragon's Milk

Sideways...why sideways

12°F is a stroll in the park! Try being in a foxhole in North Germany -20° with a wind chill of -40! Of course I'm sure someone who grew up in Wyoming or North Dakota has an even worse story than that!

Wow..that is fricking awesome! Great sword! He's got to be a great great grandfather unless you're 70. Even 3 greats..maybe. my great grandfather was born in 1890s.

The first documented soldier in the family, great grandfather Nickolaus Smolnisky. He was born Dec. 6, 1845 (Odessa, Ukraine). I also have a picture of his wife Christina who was born on Dec. 8, 1862 (Michelstal, Russia).

Happy Veterans Day!

Some kind of dry Belgian, and a robust stout.

Ok people, let me tell you about Kingman, Az on a Monday night.
DEAD, DEAD, DEAD!

Our plan when checking out a new town is #1 BEER, and #2 BARBEQUE.
All planned out. Checked out Kingman in BrewGuru, only place in town with an AHA discount is Black Bridge Brewery (15% off entire bill), no food, but there is a barbeque place right across the street! Cool, huh?
After finishing our business at the airport, and discovering a rum distillery on the airport property (good, too!) went back to hotel, cleaned up, then went in search of BBQ. They were closed at 5:30 PM!
I know it's Veterans day, but every restaurant in town was closed! After googling and wandering aimlessly for half an hour we finally found an Italian place that was open. Ate dinner (2 hours, place was packed).
So finally we get to the beer. Yes, we drank a few.
By 9 o'clock, we were the only people in there. Gotta get up early for a little more airport business, so headed back to the hotel, and found the entire town deserted. (eerie music cueing up), so, next..

Went to college in Phoenix...yeah Kingman? Yawn..on the way to Vegas baby! Didn't Kingman have the largest Hydrogen ever explosion in US history??

Glad to hear it's in the right direction brother! Stay warm! Last time I felt 6F was Valentine's day in Lincoln 2006. Grandpa Bettge passed...hit -10 during the week.
Here’s to the cure...
@PianoMan , this is the stout you’ve been helping me with. It’s a little young and needs more time on the beer gas (disappointing cascade) but tastes good.

We’ve been on a temperature roller coaster lately. It was 81° on Saturday, 18° today and forecast to be 55° tomorrow

Just 6 degrees here in Nebraska now. It’s always a win when there is no wind.

The snow/ice we got overnight was no fun. It always takes drivers at least two snowfalls to remember how to drive in it.

You are like 20miles from Lake Leba in Fremont. Late 1970s-1980s we're the hay days. Skiing with my grandma...tough lady.
