It sucks. Not because of a possible lifestyle change. But because I hate the stress of having to look for another job that pays the same or more. Now, my boss and his boss (executive) are also in the same boat. There are about 70 of us. His boss makes a **** load of dough...the bonus alone is 100% of the salary. Nuts.

we went through something kinda similar in the steel yard. had a hostile inner-corporate takeover (lawyers and all). they started cutting the heads off the snakes just to have 2 more grow in each place. some of us worms left.

having my Over Blended Mess.

Best of luck. Job hunting sucks.

I'm all about competing. It's just anytime I have to do that, it raises the stress level from a tad to a lot.

Buncha quitters in this thread. But I get cutting back to cut calories.

Thats my second step. First step is starting to exercise again - usually that does the trick.

Dark and Stormy.

Having diet lemonade.

Yeah, there was a time when I would have popped on the rollerblades every night and gotten a good couple miles of cardio done. 10-15 years later, a bunch more lbs, more years, a bad toe, a bad knee, a bad back, and the Diabeetus...not as easy to get even basic exercise, anymore. Most of those issues get better with, guess what? Weight loss! Catch 22. Bad big toe sounds almost funny, but trust me, it's not.

That reminds me of something.

My doc says: You have really mild sleep apnea. You can just exercise and sleep with a APAP for a while and the pounds will melt off in a few months and you should be great.

I bust my ass at work all day and can't sleep with the mask on and I'm spent by 2pm.

Now what doc? Should I just eat lettuce?

"We can give you a sedative to help sleep with the mask on."

So I stop breathing in the middle of the night and you want to give me a sedative? ****ing genius.

Guess it's back to lettuce and riding a bike tired as **** all summer. Beer is non-negotiable.

Catch 22s man...they will **** your **** up.

Moral of the story: Don't ever ****ing work night shifts. You get fat.

Yup - cutting back to cut calories is the way to go in that case - like I said, I get it. I spend far too much time sitting on my ass (office job) and I get lazy - so getting exercise is my first step.

Any pools near you? Not sure how it would work depending on your bad back, but its a great low impact, low stress way to exercise. Don't necessarily have to do laps.....

Water and still working on my dark and stormy.

Cardio is ridiculous. I seen skinny-ass people always running at the gym. Why? You're already bare bones I barely do cardio (unless it's a HIIT workout, which is rare) and drink like a fish and I'm still not fat. Just keep burning the little bit of muscle you have left.

Diet = key to all things. I just like to lift ****. Beer can stay in my diet so long as my food diet is in-check. I am not a personal trainer or a bodybuilder. But I've always had <15% body fat and can still see my abs, even with all the ****ing drinking I do. Again, your diet is the key to how you look, regardless of how hard you workout.

I power-cleaned 230 lbs. this morning as a personal best. And I had 1 bone of a prime rib, mac and cheese, rice, ice cream and a cookie yesterday.

**** this ****. I need another beer. For fatness' sake.

Higher chance of heart attacks too.

After two Chubs I am onto my second hb something wrong stout. The metallic flavor seems to have faded. Odd. Im sitting out back just enjoying the night. Its peaceful. Would be a great night for a cigar. The stars arent out like they were last night.

Sorry, im in beach mode a little early this years. And many miles away from one as well.

Yeah, FIL found out he had apnea the bad way. Takes a lot off your life and you always feel like ass.

I run because it's how I train for real world situations. I'm not big and won't ever be big so when the time comes, all I need to do is get a solid first punch in then run like hell! :)

Whoa so you definitely got let go?

No, not yet. Essentially, everyone has to apply for new positions and the entire organization is being scaled down. So, there are less jobs available now. Everyone has to apply for new jobs and go through the interview process (internally). If they don't get a job within the organization, then they'll have to find a job at another company.

I barely run. And I am not "big." Again, I just like lifting heavy **** and pride myself on not looking fat (for now). :D

I was going to drink another beer but you guys are making me feel fat, so I'm having a water before I watch Duke lose (please, God, I hate Duke).

Wife just got diagnosed in January. She's still fighting the APAP.

It's not that I can't fall asleep with it on, I can't keep it on past 2 hours. I move around too much.

I have to get it under control this summer, dropping a ton of pounds to see if that helps. Plus seeing an allergist to get my allergies under control because those are only making it worse.

Shoot man. I hope you land on your feet.

More session ipa and watching the Sabres winning the only game they need to lose. :what: Apparently they didn't get the memo that they need to tank this game.
