Had a sample of my orange ginger IPA. Seems pretty solid. My mash temp was far too high, it finished high at 1.012. Mash temp was basically 154-155. I couldn't get it lower. Added the tincture that has been sitting for 6 days; 1/2 oz fresh ginger and 1 ounce sweet orange peel. to the keg.
I can't wait to try it.

I made a wheat a few years back where I basically replaced everything except the bittering hop addition at 60 minutes with ginger which was phenomenal. I added a bit of honey at flame out and that really balanced it all out. It was basically a gruit (mostly, not completely)

Last beer until Friday... wife doesn't think I can do it, but I'm cutting hard for the upcoming swimwear season. Need to get that six pack rocking for summer. Yeah, I care about that kind of stuff, wanna fight about it?

Water with leftovers after just finding out I'll likely have to find another job due to a re-org and a possible spin-off. Love reading ****ty e-mails when I'm on leave.

That sucks! Hope you land on your feet without any problem - sucks to have vacation ruined like that.

I hope that's the last one of those then - otherwise the rest will be really crappy with at least another week on them.

More water. Just walked the dog and hating work.

You mean @finsfan I'm dry no more :D

Good luck @Remmy it'll work out for ya.

More water here. I heard the sun's out today.

So you'll be drinking Busch lite for the rest of the week?

That was the last one of that dusty six pack from hell. Too bad no tomato seeds landed on the bottle, could've grown a pretty nice plant with the amount of topsoil they had on 'em.

He is just shooting for this kind of six pack to rock this summer.

Thanks, guys. It stinks.

I'm looking forward to brewing with @Dave37 and @nukebrewer for the 985754th time tomorrow on National Beer Day.

You made your last beer a **** old IPA? You deserve to have your beers taken away until Friday.

HB India Red Ale. Smoking ribs on a whim and being generally annoyed at my home warranty company for being dicks about a reoccurring problem and making me pay service fees each time and the NC DMV who have taken 6 weeks to get me my new tags. Bastards.

I remember when this thread was warm and welcoming instead of a bunch of cranky mid-lifers slinging verbal diarrhea at each other.

edit: oops, wrong thread my bad... water.

Wait what? Who did that?
I was screwing around, I assumed he knew that.

Water, I too will be attempting to not drink on weekdays. Until tomorrow. Turns out I may or may not have been drinking over a case a week for the past 2 months, causing some concern that I may be somewhat dependent. Not gonna let that happen.

Considering jumping on this bandwagon, if for no other reason than to save a couple bucks or be home more. That 2 o'clock feeling though... might make it a troublesome task.

The first 2 weeks are the hardest, or at least for me. Granted I was drinking 2-3 a night most nights. I decided to cut back because I wanted to see the results of my labor at the gym. Now I will have maybe 3 a week.

Yeah, if I go out during the week its a 6 pack of ipa. Period. If I stay home, its zero. Fridays on the other hand are a **** show. If I could keep it at that, I could break out my skinny jeans again.

No one should break out skinny jeans, ever.

Drinking some water and looking at new kettles. Can anyone confirm the bayou classic kettle as a solid option? For the money it seems hard to beat.

+1 this. We need this statement on billboards, MTV commercials, whole page adds in the Penny Saver...anywhere a Hipster may find it.

Cans of mustache wax, PBR cans, Pitchfork.com, the coffee house that is too cool to be a Starbucks, open mic poetry slams, instagram photo filters...

That is the one I bought. So far I've only done a test run boiling water on it. The valve leaked, as others had stated in their feedback on amazon. My lhbs hooked it up with new fittings rather cheaply and the second test run was perfect.

I have been feeling the same way. I have a lot of family members with substance abuse issues including but not limited to alcohol. I like the idea of taking time off drinking to put my own mind at ease and assure myself that even though I love beer I don't NEED beer.

This thread is going to die a slow death. I didn't drink Monday - Wed last week and that made a difference in my workouts. Going to do that again this week.

Kombucha...keeping it going and hoping to drop some pounds this Spring/Summer. Two batches fermenting, one ready to drink(in the fridge), and a SCOBY hotel.

I won't stop drinking beer, though I went about 5 years without alcohol a couple years back. But I'm going to keep it reasonable. I'm also drastically reducing the Diet Cokes.

I don't drink during the week, but crush it on weekends. Granted, it reduces the ole tolerance but it saves bucks and a couple of nice 22s makes for a great Saturday of yard work and catch with the youngins.

Afternoon buzz at the bruery.

How is the imperial or xata? Saw the email today and can't decide on that.

My son wears skinny jeans - but that is because he's a beanpole. If we buy regulars then its like he's wearing Hammer Pants and that's no good. The skinny actually fit normally for him. I'm sure that will change with time (especially if he takes after me! ;) )
