Odell Brewing 90 Shilling Ale.
Had about a pour and a half that didn't fit in the two kegs of the latest batch of my all-Citra hazy. It went into a carb-capped soda bottle overnight for enjoying tonight. Perfecto!

Sharing just one more - Samuel Smith’s Organic Chocolate stout. This one says 5%. Really rich chocolate flavor in this one. Been a UK stout kind of night. All 3 - Lump of Coal, Samuel Smith’s Imperial Stout, Samuel Smith’s Organic Chocolate Stout are all UK beers.
Some say breakfast but when one is up since 3am, late lunch seems appropriate along with proper fluids. HB Reuben (pre sauerkraut) with HB Russian dressing.

That's my second favorite commercial chocolate stout, with Young's Double Chocolate Stout being the first (much more chocolate character than Sam Smith). Sadly my town's stores haven't been able to get either lately. Fortunately my own double imperial chocolate stout is even better than both

HB Baltic porter I bottled last April. It has developed some complexity and surprisingly, very little oxidation. I only have a few bottles left, so I'll save them for a rainy day.

So yesterday I’m loading up on beer singles at Total Wine. I picked up a Pliny, first time I’ve seen it there. The gal at the checkout was looking around for a box to put all those singles in. I didn’t even notice it was a Pliny the Elder box until I got it back home.
Well, that makes for an interesting story. At one time, this was the World’s Most Sought After IPA – things have changed a bit. Nowadays, IPAs bigger in all parameters are available everywhere. Still, I like drinking a Pliny the Elder every once in a while to go back to the roots of the new IPA movement in California and the Nation.
Assuming this box goes with the bottles on the shelf, that means these were bottled on January 3rd, just a couple weeks before my purchase yesterday. That’s a fresh IPA. The box says it all – store cold and don’t age this beer!
IPAs are the Zinfandel of the beer world - drink ‘em fresh and drink ‘em young – and quick! Hoppy beers are best consumed quickly before the delicate hop essence and flavors dissipate. That’s important, especially for fans like me that are dedicated hop-heads, gotta love that Simcoe!
Russian River does it again. Also in my favorite Weihenstephaner-type bottles I use for re-bottling. If you can get those tough labels off, good luck! Cheers!

HB Ordinary Bitter. Damn keg won't kick and I have an ipa just about ready to slot into its place.

HM jasmine rice wine. Pretty tasty but jasmine is harder to work with than sweet rice imho.

I am currently finishing off drinking my "Sleepy hallow" Pumpkin Ale made with real pumpkin that was baked in the oven with maple syrup and brown sugar caramelized on it and a Mexican Cerveza that I brewed a month ago. Currently am brewing up a Black IPA that I find is great. Using midnight wheat it is a good one so I will post when I move on to that one!

Two glasses so I can get one continuous pour from a 1L bottle of red ale.
We’re visiting friends at their lake house. They aren’t beer drinkers but like to have some on hand for visitors. There was a box of 5 year old Heineken in the fridge. Yeah. Nah. Passably drinkable but a lot of sediment in the bottom.
So we found a couple of boxes of 10 year old corona. No sediment at all and with a slice of lemon down the neck who can tell what it’s supposed to taste like anyway.
