First time trying Nelson, can anyone provide feedback on my hop schedule?

I read that Nelson biotransforms well, maybe do 1oz of each at high krausen instead of full dry hop after softcrash? Also read that galaxy can get over powered, but I thought galaxy was on the more potent side.

Went to look at your recipe, I think you have it set to “do not share“ because I can’t access the page

galaxy is supposed to be on the more potent side . citra mosaic galaxy seem to be the strongest according to internet opinion depending on year but IMO :

Citra>>Mosaic>galaxy.

and realistically, i think unfortunately individual taste and aroma vary too much to make these kind of generalizations. i have found my best beers to be trial and error honed recipes.

i cant see your recipe can you post a screen shot from brewersfriend

Try now, sorry i have been having issues when using both the BF app and website. I set it to public last night in the app but it didn’t stick.

So I would be very reluctant to use Galaxy hotside at any more than 2 oz, so I think your plan is sound. Now hotside, if you’re planning for just Galaxy and Nelson, you’re good there with the Nelson. If you have citra and if your willing to use it, I’d personally use Galaxy and citra hotside and the. Dryhop with the Nelson and galaxy. Nelson is high on the survivable chart but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to provide you with the character you want after transformation. In my honest opinion, bioftransfermation changes hops character but doesn’t necessarily mean it’s better. It usually mutes them to an extent. In a firm believe in let the whirlpool addition to transform And then add all dryhops post fermentation. They are always brighter that way and limit the risk of hopburn as the yeast won’t bind the polyphenols to the proteins, which is what hopburn is

Sounds good, thanks. Unfortunately just ran out of citra so I’m cleaning out my freezer of hops I seldom use, in this case nelson. Ill skip the biotransformation addition and do the full DH at softcrash
