Was in Aldi today and saw this for the first time, figured why not. It's a little thin, not much maltiness, carbonation a little light, a touch of bitterness at the end. 5.5%, $7.99. Not bad but if you gave it to me blind I wouldn't have identified it as a festbier, especially compared to the ones I've had in the last few days.

Next trip to Aldi, pick up some soft pretzels from the freezer section. They're quite good for frozen pretzels, and Aldi usually only stocks them a few times a year.

My Aldi was stocked up on all their Deutsche Kuche goodies for O-Fest season. Spaetzle, schnitzel, etc.

Sadly, our Aldis don't carry alcohol. Damn Minnesota booze laws.

First time seeing this from Ordinem Ecentrici Coctores (OEC Brewing), Oxford, CT. Coolship Lager Amber Smoke. Beechwood smoked malt, coolshipped, open fermented, cellared several months, 5.4%. Aroma is malt and subtle smoke. Taste is malt and more smoke but not as much as a Schlenkerla. Looks pretty dark for an amber, not that it matters to me. I like smokey beers and this is a very good one imho.

Raspberry Hard Lemonade. Kegged about 48 hours ago. It’s a little more clear than it was yesterday. Tasty stuff! Family and friends that have sampled it really enjoyed it.
