Batch 1 - bottle carbed Block Party Amber Ale kit from NB. Got my el cheapo, quick and dirty labelling system down (sharpie the batch number on the cap).
US05 yeast. Fermented 2 weeks, Bottle conditioned 2 weeks.
Review- had 1 gusher...oops
It tasted a little syrupy the first day or two, but the longer it sits the better it gets. It's pretty good now (about 24 days in the bottle).
Prior to homebrewing I usually drank the cheapest beer on sale. This homebrew (all ingredients added in- including caps- but no hardware) was about 1 cent a bottle more expensive than the cheapest swill. But, it's an infinitely better brew. More body, more color, more taste. And this is the bottom of the shelf, cheapest kit from NB (I bought 4. second batch about 1 week in bottle, third batch still fermenting.)
I don't think I can ever go back to cheap commercial beer. Thanks guys for scheduling every other weekend for the rest of my life for bottling and brewing.

Bitburger is my favorite commercial German Pils. I've tried a few times to clone it but haven't gotten it, I believe they use a specific hop only grown by them.

Bargain Bin Stout. They're not going to drink themselves. On a side note, the store had those Yuengling Hershey Porters for $6/6pk in the bargain bin. I resisted. I feel it was a good move.

I've been in a Firestone-Walker mood this week. Their Union Jack was terrific. Today I cruise on over to their "Juicy West Coast IPA" Cali Cruiser, 6.6% ABV. For the rest of you out there outside of California, well, heck here too - this week Cali is short for Calcified, becase I suspect something happened to the canning or filtration system lines - check out all the suspended yeast. I'm even giving you a video of it. Wow, for Firestone Walker? I am depressed, these guys are one of my favorites. I forget, I may have received this beer free for buying a sack of potatoes, let me go check my receipt.....
Taste is OK, I think I'd prefer another Union Jack or an 805 though. "Juicy" is usually reserved more for NEIPAs, not Westies - plus this one is a bit cloudy by West Coast IPA standards. Not much head, I'm trying to figure this beast out. I'm not getting too much "Juice". Decent IPA, buy their Union Jack though. There's now a lot of yeast in the bottom of my glass, I think I'll pass on that last big gulp. Enjoy.....

IMO Firestone Walker has only kind of nibbled around the edges of the hazy/juicy ipa style without making much of a splash, at least as far as the beers I've tried. And I live only about a 40 minute drive from the brewery, so I have access to not only their national and regional offerings, but also their one-off brewery-only releases. I do really enjoy Double Mind Haze though. But my go-to FW beers are their barrel-aged strong ales - Parabola, Sucaba, Anniversary, etc.
I really like that beer and wish I could get it at that price here!

It’s too bad they charge top dollar for $h1t like this, but thankfully the can was a cheap purchase from my connection. I would never justify $25+ for a 4-pack of their beers. They continue to disappoint me.
Rant over… Diabetic shock now setting in.
My last brew from @Section1. It was 98° today, so why not an 8.2% porter?

SA cold IPA. Not a big fan of hop bitterness but this isn't too bad.

Wouldn't do to forget the Vodka ( homebrew )tonic ice and lime chaser lurking in the background.
